Seasonal BLOG

Blue Ledge Farm offers two intern positions: one for the months of March, April, May, a portion June, and the second for a portion of June, all of July, August and September. We are flexible but ideally an intern commits to three month minimum.

We will begin accepting applications for the 2011 internship positions on 10/1/10. Please include a letter of interest, resume and two work references.

Our intern apartment is connected to the main farmhouse, but you have your own entrance, own kitchen and bathroom. It is a studio apartment with two floors making up one big room with the kitchen and eating area downstairs and the bedroom and bathroom upstairs.

There are two main aspects to our farm operation. One is in the cheese plant, mostly making and wrapping cheese, washing molds and equipment; the other is in the barn, milking the goats, feeding, cleaning and other daily chores. There is also a large organic vegetable garden which you can help with.

We ask our interns to work 40 hours a week and we are flexible with scheduling those hours.
